WildTangent announced today that it would be upping the ante in its customized games for brand marketers portfolio by forming a partnership with 24/7 Real Media to offer dynamically-served advertising within its downloadable games. The first game to contain this technology will be "Snowboard Super Jam," which will have billboards featuring Jeep and Oakley brand logos and products that can be updated periodically.
Most of WildTangent's downloadable games can be found at WildGames.com, with links popping up periodically to "branded" entertainment such as Coca-Cola's "Championship Run," which emulates this year's NCAA men's basketball tournament. While many of WildTangent's game start off as full trials with an expiration date, they do sell games at various price points. But it appears that they are looking to bump up their revenues a bit - perhaps to fill the gap in the free-trial-to-licensed-product gap.

1. Hi, I'm working on a marketing paper about in-game product placement and was wondering if anyone can think of any recent games that have product placement for a snack food or drink (preferably not Coke as it's the market leader? I'd make people play the game and then offer them a range of of snacks/ drinks and see if the placement affected their choice. Any suggestions?
