Speaking of offensive: KFC ad rankles viewers

Kentucky Fried Chicken offendsOn-again off-again KFC/Kentucky Fried Chicken just got into some hot water with viewers in the UK. The company's ad for its new Zinger Crunch Salad features an office full of telephone operators operating with their mouths stuffed with chicken and greens. Over 1100 viewers phoned in to voice their displeasure, complaining that it "encouraged bad manners, [and] mocked people with speech impediments." In an amazing display of "to each their own," the last ad to provoke so many was a 1995 condom campaign that "featured an image of the pope wearing a hard hat alongside the words “Thou shalt always wear a condom"." Chicken or condoms, it's so hard to please people these days.
