The AP has a story this week about Donald Trump's attempt to get NBC to give him $2 million per episode for The Apprentice, which he apparently didn't get. He was in Philadelphia to speak to the Advertising Specialty Institute show, talking to folks about pushing their wares.
It's more than comical that his "take home" was something that you don't need a multi-millionaire whose companies have a little bit of trouble staying out of the red to tell you that "Having a good product helps." But this is, for some reason, what the press loves to do - pick up on people who have celebrity in them and use them as a model or example, when meanwhile, there are plenty of sub $50,000 salaried folks who could give you much better, and specific, advice. I don't know about you, but hearing from someone who put up a show full of bogus product placements that had the potential of utter disaster on the air isn't exactly my idea of a solid keynote.
