Online Ad Checklist: RSS ads, AdSense redirect, Phil Kaplan's AdBrite

  • keyboardRichard McManus suggests that RSS ads aren't all about the click-thru - or shouldn't be, necessarily - and should be seen more appropriately as a "branding and marketing exercise."
  • Ouch! Google's AdSense page is giving some serious PageRank points to a site that's using a redirect to lead visitors to Google's site through a search result - making the rest of that website a huge asset for the "search engine optimizer."
  • Has Findory found a way to super-leverage the Google AdSense service, tailoring it to the user experience? Not quite, but they're working on it.
  • Phil Kaplan, who some of us know by the nickname "Pud," is looking to take his AdBrite straight up the charts, not down them, like his previous project, which we'll politely call f'dcompany. Great profile of someone who has made it through the ups and downs of the Internet age with a seemingly constant smile - or maybe that's a smirk.
