DirecTV's "Rethink" campaign rolls on

DirecTV continues to ask viewers to "rethink TV" this year, in an attempt to show innovation by the television provider. In fact, this latest spot takes the slogan as its moniker, with the 60-second "Rethink TV" by Tool of North America's Sam Jones putting together a stack of short films or situations into one big concept. Check out the ad here. [QuickTime]

Jones says that his favorite scene is #5, showing the skateboarder on top of the television screen, which he filmed from another skateboard. For me, I enjoyed the filmmaking of it all, like when the windshield wipers clean the glass in the car, surrounded by "Rethink Quality" and "Quality" as text on the screen. That, combined with the "cable guy" backing his van into another car with the word "Mediocrity" hitting the screen did it for me. Of course, I'm a big DirecTV enthusiast, and don't apologize for being one.

In any case, check out a few stills and full credits for the ad after the jump.
