Sausage company beats the big guys

Johnsonville don't be coppin' out to big business, G. The family-owned Johnsonville, maker of delicious sausages, has quickly become the number one selling brat maker, and without selling out to big business (except for a brief acquisition by Sara Lee). The sausage brand is not only available at backyard barbecues, but at McDonald's restaurants and at NFL games. The company also hit the road with semitrailers equipped with grills to introduce folks to Johnsonville's meaty goodness. Ads for the product explain how to properly store them and cook them, all of which is part of an effort to turn the Wisconsin-based company into a nationally-recognized brand that has long been a staple of middle America's cook outs.
