I briefly mentioned my aversion to corporate advertising in schools a couple days ago, and it looks like I'm not the only one in the world who feels that way. In Australia, Federal Education Minister Brendan Nelson has come out against businesses which advertise on school property, calling it "inappropriate." He claims businesses who want to help schools should display adverts of support on their own premises. The issue came to Nelson's attention when a school in Sydney was forced to allow advertisers like McDonald's into the school after its budget was slashed.
