Kraft goes after iPod users

Kraft has presented itself as the next in line to try and capitalize on the popularity of Apple's iPod. The food giant has made recipes available for download and viewing in the "Notes" field on the music player. The recipes are broken up for easy viewing on the iPod's small screen but take up very little space. So far Kraft has made 6,000 recipes available for download from KraftFoods.com.

While some in the article are skeptical as to the practicality of viewing text on the small screen more and more companies are sure to look for ways to transfer their content onto iPods and other portable media devices. Devices that are Bluetooth enabled are especially likely to be targeted. The website for the movie The Wedding Crashers featured photos that could be downloaded that were specially formated for iPod viewing as a way for consumers to bring the promotion with them wherever they went. Of course, that was beautiful ladies and not recipes, but the appeal to the target market was just as strong.
