Chevrolet must still think there's something to be said for advertising on television. How else to explain two major deals it's struck.
First, the carmaker will buy all - all - the advertising time for the September 22 broadcast of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. These aren't just advertisements either, they're pre-taped segments starring Andy Dick that will be introduced on-air by Leno. All this is to promote Chevy's new HHR, which looks like a cross between a minivan and a station wagon.
Secondly Chevy has paid TV network CBS to digitally place the logo for their Impala in the background of five of its primetime shows, including CSI. The logo will appear for about eight seconds, though the story is unclear as to whether it will pop up multiple times per show.
Chevrolet is also sponsoring of The Biz, an online reality show hosted by America Online, where the HHR will be part of the tasks contestants have to complete.

1. In Spain and other european countries chevrolet are investing big amounts in advertising and promotions because they want to introduce the brand.
At the moment there arenīt public results about sales, probably at the end of the year
