I pride myself in being able to figure things out. Plot twists at the end of mystery movies, how to install a program on my computer, the perfect sequence of turns that will brown my toast evenly on both sides. But I'm confused by the latest TV commercial for adidas running shoes. The one that has the guy running through the city, and everything gets disrupted when he runs by it. Waterbeds explode, tractor trailer tires blow out, balloon floats deflate, a kid gets knocked off a pogo stick. At first I thought it was because the guy's feet smelled so bad he was causing all of this to happen, but the commercial is for a running shoe, so they wouldn't do that.
Can someone help me? Why are things getting destroyed when the runner runs by? Is it so basic and obvious that I'm missing it?

1. I've only seen the spot once and I don't have a clue either. Maybe it's point is so just simple I just missed it or psuedo-hip insider hype? Don't know, but would not make me look at or buy shoes....unless I wanted to be distructive? Hmmm, is that the point?
