Karina over at Cinematical hipped us to the first release from Mountain Dew Films, First Descent. I have to say that until about three seconds ago I had no idea there even was a film division of Mountain Dew, but apparently there is. The snowboarding documentary is slated to be released this December, and will focus on old timers and newcomers to the sport as they head for the mountains of Alaska. It may seem strange that a soft drink company is venturing into the film biz, but considering the fact that Mountain Dew was one of the original founders of the X Games, it does make some sense. The film company is distributing through a partnership with Universal Pictures. Mountain Dew hits the big screen
