Coke campaign competition gets new player

Adam Finley brought us all news that Coke was holding what amounts to an American Idol-esque pitting agencies against each other in order to create a worldwide campaign for the soft drink maker. Well apparently the results have failed to impress marketing execs at Coke and a winner has yet to be picked. Taking advantage of a window of opportunity, AdCandy, an agency which differentiates itself by being driven by input from a community of users, is trying to come away with the prize. It is soliciting ideas on its website for a Coke campaign and is even offering prizes. The catch is that this is not officially recognized by Coke, so even if you come up with a great idea it may not go anywhere. In my opinion, though, Coke would be wise to acknowledge the goings-on over there in some way shape or form. What better way to create passionate users than to let them have a modicum of say in how the product is sold?
