A patent application from Microsoft which would apparently allow PVR users to be charged for skipping over ads is starting to cause a small uproar across the Web. The patent itself can be seen here. This comes in the wake of certain restrictions that Tivo users have been noticing, such as having certain shows deleted from the devices by the copyright holders. Those claims have been disregard as mere glitches, but it seems that copyrights are something Tivo can't ignore.
A charge for skipping ads?

Tivo is probably the most known of all PVR's so of course people will relate this to TiVo.

1. Oh I get it!
Microsoft applies for a patent to charge users for fastforwarding through commercials... but forget all about that, cause it's Tivo that's the evil one!
That's why we're seeing a picture of tivo and not the microsoft logo!
