Despite the growing number of high-profile rock bands licensing their music for use in commercials, former Doors drummer John Densmore refuses to allow any of the music he was a part of making to be sold. This stalwart position has caused a split between him and his former surviving band mates Ray Manzarek and Robbie Kreiger. While the offers have come in steadily over the years since the Doors last put out a record Densmore has said "no" to each and every one, believing to allow corporate use of the band's music would betray the artistic legacy the three created with late lead singer Jim Morrison. The other band members have even taken Densmore to court over the issue, alleging he is acting in a manner that doesn't take monetary best interests into consideration. No Doors tunes in commercials
