Beer pong promotions not so good

Beer pong, a game in which players lob ping pong balls into beer cups and then drink the beer, has been a big hit at frat parties and bars, and corporations have been taking part, too, leading some to accuse them of encouraging binge drinking. Anheuser-Busch, which uses a game called Bud Pong in bars as a promotion, says the rules call for using water, not beer. Of course, someone playing Bud Pong with water is about as likely as a teenage kid using the ZigZags he bought at the convenience store to smoke tobacco. Miller also sponsors some beer pong games in bars, but Coors is one of the few beer companies that has come out against it, claiming the games promote "overconsumption."
