Women in Asia are growing increasingly independent, but advertising does not reflect this shift, according to a recent study. Eighty regular women and fifteen experts were interviewed and found to be much less interested in traditional roles and raising families than their ancestors were. These same women found themselves adverse to ads which used "clichéd" plots and made outlandish claims as far as beauty products and body enhancement. Funny, I think you could probably do the same study in America and get the same results. Advertising has always talked down to women in this way, but I think most of them see if for what it is.
