AOL offers classic TV on demand

As reported on TV Squad, Warner Bros. will begin offering classic episodes from over 100 television shows on demand over the internet through AOL's new distribution service In2TV. More than 4,800 individual episodes will be available with - and this is the important part - up to two minutes of commercials per episode. The content selection will vary from month to month and will be selected with the goal of not eating into DVD sales in mind. The ads that will be attached to the shows will not be skippable, a la TiVo. That being said viewers need to ask themselves if a couple minutes of commercials is acceptible in exchange for access to free access to classic television.

[note: Weblogs, Inc. is an operating company of AOL.]
