Sporting good ads are usually pretty slick, and show you how the products - gear, balls, gloves, bats, clubs, whatever - tend to work. In this case, Reebok wants to show you how to use their new "Sideline" hats for the NFL and "Swingman" for the NBA. And by use, I mean for purposes to get rid of stress or maybe, just maybe, to affect the game you're watching. For instance, the guy pictured above is rubbing his Steelers hat in the interest of helping his boys in black and gold win a game. As a sports fan, I can really get into the NFL ad (seen here, QuickTime required), because we've all had those moments, typically during a two-minute drill or when the kicker is lining up to make a game-tying or -winning field goal. The ad truly captures the emotions of those situations. More screens, and details on the NBA ad, after the jump.

This Chiefs fan is gonna tear his hat in half.

This young Giants fan probably just saw his kicker miss another field goal.
As for the NBA spot, this lucky fan shows the ultimate in superstitiousness when he turns his new "Swingman" hat to the side, and Houston's Yao Ming misses a free throw - badly.

Does his move have anything to do with the accuracy? Who knows. All that matters is that we all think that way - well, at least the crazy "fan" in us does.
The ads were directed ty Tool of North America's Harry Cocciolo for mcgarrybowen, who is the creative agency on the Reebok account. The ads are currently running, and will stay on the air for the remainder of the NFL and NBA seasons. Additionally, Final Cut handled the final sound edits and mixing.
