DVR owner watches ads anyway

"Once you get over the sordid idea that someone is trying to manipulate you into buying something, commercials can be entertaining." That's the sentiment of one Canadian, Scott Colbourne, who, despite owning a DVR, no longer skips commercials. As a Tivo owner myself (A Tivo I had to replace after having it less than a month, but that's another story) I can't say I share his love of commercials, but he does make a good point that television commercials are just as much a part of our social dialogue as TV shows. It makes one wonder if curiosity will eventually win out and we'll start watching ads anyway, despite having the ability to zip past them.
