Coke goes Blak with new drink

Next month Coca-Cola will introduce a new beverage in France called Blak, which mixes classic Coke with the taste of coffee. The drink is even said to froth and foam like coffee. I assume the key demographic Coke is shooting for are people who believe A Nightmare on Elm Street was based on a true story and that if they don't stay awake Freddy Krueger will kill them. Coca-Cola and other soda makers have been rolling out energy drinks for awhile now, as it is a very lucrative market, but I think they may have gone too far this time, as the idea of combining coffee and Coke just doesn't sound very appealing. The launch will be supported by a print, television, outdoor, and in-store ad campaign. A worldwide roll out is expected to follow.
