AT&T continues its pleasure of using high definition spots with "Transparency," which uses the same lines of sight as its previous ad from a few weeks back, showing the merger of SBC & AT&T bringing two "Suns" to come up from either side of the Earth - but this time, everything's terrestrial. Essentially, you can see the "network" that runs through everything in our lives, and that AT&T / SBC are behind quite a bit of it. Sorry about the small screenshot, but we've got the spot available in widescreen for your viewing pleasure. Check it out here.
So far, this is my favorite ad (not that we've seen too much, it's only been a bit of pregame so far) of the day, and it gets about two extra thumbs up from me just because of the use of HD. For anything technological, it's purely a good idea, even if it does force you into letterbox for those who are still watching standard definition. And sssociating yourself with being behind every single thing that people see and use on a daily basis - down to the fuel pumps at the gas station - is a bit obnoxious for most companies, but considering AT&T and SBC's position in the world of telecommunications, I don't think it's so out of line.
Props to GSD&M and Rogers Townshend for the spot.
