In a move that seems to signal a belief by the company that donuts can not be made on word-of-mouth alone, Krispy
Kreme (yuuuummmy) is launching a print, TV and radio campaign in a
few select markets. The spots will be aimed at promoting the new heart-shaped doughnuts the chain will be offering for
Valentine's Day. TV commercials will show doughnuts coming down the ubiquitous conveyor belt and being glazed. The
campaign comes at a time when sales have fallen and some of the
glaze luster has come off the company,
which now makes its products available in grocery stores as well as stand-alone Krispy Kreme stores.
I'm going completely Pavlovian just thinking about these. I sense a doughnut run in my near future. Talk amongst yourselves.
