Tom Biro told us a while ago that Jeeves, the butler-ific icon
of the Ask Jeeves network, would soon be retired. There was a campaign launched to save the guy but that, alas, has proven
fruitless. After a decade of service to searchers the butler will be shown the door (instead of the other way around) at the
end of this month. It's part of an overall rebranding effort by the search engine that will see it labeled simply as
"Ask." The delay between the announcement and the actual firing was to see how users felt about the decision.
No word yet on the application Jeeves submitted at Stately Wayne Manor.
