AdAge In 60 Seconds

  • Agencies are hiring up some A-list blogging talent. First Weber Shandwick hires Jeremy Pepper (J-Pepp to his friends) and now Edelman has brought Steve Rubel (Steve Rubel to his friends) in-house to create word-of-mouth and other blog-friendly campaigns.
  • I have to believe singer Sheryl Crow is at the top of some master list all ad agencies use when looking for pop music for their campaigns. Her song "Everyday is a Winding Road" will be used in a new campaign for Subaru that will focus on the safety of their all-wheel drive cars.
  • Google Maps is being utilized by HBO in a unique promotion for the upcoming new season of The Sopranos. The map of New Jersey (Official State Slogan: "We're so proud of Tom Biro") was created by agency Deep Focus and is designed to remind visitors of some of the show's past storylines.
