There's a discussion going
on about how Google seems to have served up its first - or at least on of its first - video ads. The ad appeared on The Superficial and had the familiar "Ads By Google" along with it.
The ad doesn't seem to be there at this moment (at least I didn't see it) but this would run contrary to assertions by
Google that it has no plans to deliver video ads. Explanations previously had run along the lines of "if we did
that with out volume we'd crash the entire internet." The 15-second ad did not auto-play but required the viewer
select to start it. There's some wondering, though, as to what kind of measurement Google would use for this ad. Would
it be straight CPC, which would require full plays for the publisher to get credit, or CPM, which would count the fact
that the ad appeared as a hit? Stay tuned for more.Did Google place a video ad?
