Satellite radio
provider XM has been told by an arbitration
panel that it must include advertising on music channels for which Clear Channel provides music. The dispute has been
going on for a while now, with XM saying they don't want to put ads on the channels but Clear Channel thought
differently. Clear Channel was among the early investors in XM in exchange for control over four music channels. That
means XM rival Sirius will be alone in being able to claim all its music channels are commercial-free. To ease any
potential user discontent XM will launch four new and commercial-free channels over the next few months as ads appear on
the four Clear Channel-controlled ones.XM to no longer be totally "commercial free"
