You know, Mickey Mouse always seemed like an affable, happy-go-lucky kind of rodent, but apparently he's very interested in medical science and human mortality. Check out this old full-page ad from Look Magazine for The Sulfa Drugs featuring Mickey Mouse testing a gonorrhea drug on lab rats. I just hope he's not doing this because he's the one who gave them gonorrhea in the first place. I'm not sure I want to know about that. The ad is quite surreal, given the weird contrast between the medical text and the cartoon drawings. In addition, we see Mickey in rare form, popping pills and spiraling into what appears to be drug-addiction and insanity by the second to the last panel. I just wonder how cartoon characters catch these types of disease, since I'm pretty sure they have no discernible sexual organs.
