I suppose this does kind
of make sense. NASCAR is coming out with its own line of meats, and considering most NASCAR fans are of the
grillin' and tail gatin' variety, launching their own hot dogs, bacon, and other assorted meats seems like a natural
thing to do.
But here's my thing. Whether or not you enjoy NASCAR, does the name itself make food sound all that appetizing? If I'm going to eat a hot dog I'll probably look for names like "Hormel" or "Oscar Mayer" that are actually synonymous with food. I don't think I would buy hot dogs from NASCAR anymore than I would sample muffins made by General Motors. Perhaps if the hot dogs were shaped like spark plugs....
