It wasn't very long ago that the surviving members of The
Doors were in disagreement over whether to
allow the songs they wrote with the late Jim Morrison to be used in commercials. The band mates had categorically
denied companies who asked for permission to use their songs, but eventually bandmates Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek
became more open to the idea, with drummer John Densmore refusing to "sell out." Now, however, Densmore
claims that if the right commercial comes along, he'll consider it. This means that when and if you hear a Doors song
played during a commercial, it's probably not going to be for shampoo or cereal, although the Rice Krispies elves
singing "C'mon baby light my fire" would be a lot of fun.The Doors may allow music to be used in ads
