Jack White's Coke ad

Back in November I mentioned that Jack White would be writing an original jingle for a Coke commercial. You can check out the new spot below. I haven't quite made up my mind about it, but I think that while it's visually appealing (I love the "suspended animation" feel), it doesn't really make me want to drink Coke. I'm also not certain White's brand of abrasive rock really makes for a good commercial jingle. Basically, this commercial appeals to me in every way except the way it's supposed to. What do you guys think?

2. I don't think any ad can "make you want to drink Coke." But if you're into the White Stripes and music videos you'll probably dig the ad. If you have a tendancy to like Coke, the ad may strengthen the the attachement you have with the brand. I like the White Stripes and music videos so the ad appeals to me.

3. This is a great coke commercial because it's very, very interesting and the song is great (although it is very cliche, but then again, it's supposed to be!). Jack White is probably the most talented musician in America (maybe the world) right now.

4. the other significant thing to this commerical is it was designed by (Nagi Noda)one of todays best fine pop artist. She is the Andy Warhol of Japan and to see this collaboration of two different artist is truely cool. It refreshing to see a company like coke makeing ads not just to name drop or buy buy there product (pepsi)but to do something creative and cool.
