Hewlett-Packard has
signed on to sponsor
a new reality show on MTV called "Meet or Delete." While there was no dollar amount announced the deal is
notable for the fact that it not only encompasses the TV broadcasts but also distribution of the show online and on
wireless devices. The show is about giving someone access to another person's computer and having them then decide if
it's someone they'd like to date. Aside from sounding like THE LAMEST PREMISE EVER the technology focus of the show is
likely what drew HP to the deal. In fact the VERY LAME idea of the show - that someone's hard drive is a reflection of
themselves - plays in nicely to the new focus HP has in its branding, that of devices being electronic extensions of
the individual.HP goes multi-platform on MTV

I have mixed feeling about it. Well, there is no doubt that the show will be successful but I cannot find it how HP fits into here. HP is not a hard drive maker or HP is not famous in the software industry too. Nor is HP is an Internet giant. I am curious to know how HP bosses promote HP here.
