In its bid to maintain its market share against the constant competition from Google and the new threat from Microsoft, Yahoo! is about ready to take the wraps off a redesigned search advertising system. The newly polished tool should increase the relevancy of ads being delivered to search users. That means not only more potential money for the advertiser but for Yahoo! as well. The company unveiled the technical specifications of the program, nicknamed Project Panama, today for users to take a look at. The rewrite has been in the works for a while now but was delayed occasionally for two reasons. First, Yahoo! wanted the first priority to be the stabilizing and enhancing of the core search tool. Second, they wanted whatever advertising revamp it did to be scalable for graphic and video-based ads as well as text.
