If you want to go the "weird" route with your advertising, you have to tread upon that territory carefully. For every commercial that does it well there are several others who don't do it so well. Skittles, I think, for the most part, knows how to be weird and fun without pushing the concept too far. Their ads are like little glimpses into an alternate universe, and I tend to like them, save for the ad featuring the kid who turns his hands into mixers. Something about that ad just falls flat.

Anyway, one ad I do like is this one, in which a man discovers a Skittles leak in his apartment. This being the surreal world of Skittles, a man comes into fix it by, naturally, hanging a small man from the ceiling to eat the Skittles. It's funny, clever, and there's just a slight edge of creepiness to the whole thing, kind of like that long beard ad.
