Amid over at Cartoon Modern, a blog dedicated to animation and design from the 1950s, found this ad via YouTube for Speedway 79, a high-octane "power fuel." The soundtrack isn't the best quality, but you can still make out what's being sung as they inform you about the fuel and why it's so wonderful. The ad was created in 1955, and frankly, I wish they'd use animation more often these days in commercials. You still see it used, of course, but a lot of these older ads played like tiny shows in and of themselves. I guess that era has passed. It's kind of a shame.Old animated fuel ad from 1950s
