You know how sometimes you hear a song from a TV ad playing over and over, but since you're either doing something (gotta get those blog posts out!) or just not paying attention, you don't ever see the visuals? And by the time you actually see the commercial, the product being sold completely takes you by surprise? That's what happened with the current TV ad for Heineken Premium Light; I had the refrain of the commercial's song, "Don't Cha" by The Pussycat Dolls featuring Busta Rhymes, in my head long before I realized it was being used to sell light Dutch beer. But here's my question: what in the world does the song's chorus -- "Don't cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me?/ Don't cha wish your girlfriend was a freak like me?" have to do with beer? There's really nothing hot about beer, even light beer; the women that you'd see dancing to that song in a club are more likely going to be drinking appletinis than drinking light beer. They guys trying to dance with them? Maybe. But I'm just wondering what Heineken is thinking with this "glam" ad. Guess they know what they're doing, though; I can't get that damn song out of my head.
Eh, doesn't matter. Light beer sucks, anyway.
[Here's Adam's take on another Heineken ad that's a little... off.]

1. I thought the exact same thing when I saw the commercial. The song does not relate to the beverage in any way. The woman singing the song isn't a Pussycat Doll, though. One of the actual Pussycat Dolls, I believe it was Ashley, said she thought the commercial and the version of the song were both weird.
