Brand-spanking new "American Idol" winner Taylor Hicks has been signed by Ford to star and sing in a new commercial that debuts, umm, today. The new spot will feature Hicks singing a brand new song and be tied into the year end sales event being run by the carmaker. Doing business with "American Idol" is not exactly new ground for Ford, who has been a sponsor of the kareoke tournament since 2002. The spot will come in two sizes, both 30 and 60 second. The new song is titled "Possibilites" and apparently has a completely danceable beat.Ford signs Taylor Hicks

(Page 2)22. Miikey, Taylor is no "sellout." Ford had already contracted to do this commerical using this same song) with whoever won American Idol this year. It could just as easily have been Katherine, Elliot, Paris or Chris singing "Possibilities" in front of a Ford vehicle. Would Taylor have sung/played with Snoop Dogg in Birmingham this past weekend if he were a "sellout?" I think not.

23. This commercial is HORRIBLE. I can't stand this guy.
You might as well have Bill Clinton on there with his saxaphone. This old looking (gray hair is not cool, especially on someone this young, (come on T.H., get some hair dye). I would understand the gray hair if he was in his mid 60's or older. Oh yeah, and spinning around in circles and repeatedly pointing your hand at the camera is NOT dancing.
I can not stand this commercial and I want to change the channel or mute the tv every time it comes on, and often do at least until its over.
Luckily it will not effect my taste in automobiles as I prefer Dodge and Mitsubishi cars & trucks. Ford is next in line after that for me, but I would not make a decision to buy or not buy due to the person on a commercial.
Taylor Hicks, YUCK

24. Isn't it odd that only the GUYS don't like Taylor ... maybe a little jealousy going on because the females all love him. I like Toby, but Taylor is a really nice change. At least you know who's singing .. he doesn't sound like everybody else!!

26. I am so happy to see Taylor doing well and the thing that I hope more than anything is that he is able to keep his head and do what he feels is best for his future. He was the one that I thought would win from the first audition. The Ford commercial was great. I hated the first song that they decided he needed to record. I could have written a better song and presented him better. I think if Taylor sings what he feels, he will always be on target. I have an Aunt who was an amazing Jazz singer and Hollywood tried to make her something different and it really hurt her. I have been a singer, songwriter, recording artist, commercial singer most of my life but chose family and motherhood. I have probably done more and had more experiences and opportunity singing in the church than I ever would have had in the music business. I am also blessed with five wonderful children and four grandchildren to date and have been able to be with them and see them grow up. I am still singing. I noticed that George Huff is singing in the church and I commend him for following his heart.

21. All I can say is two words BillBoards Charts. 3 #1 songs for your 'commercial' guy. Correct me if I'm wrong, but how many commercial backup or studio musicians have 3 #1 hits on the American BillBoards chart their first week out? Hmmmmm, better stick to writing the obits!!!
