Chrysler must be convinced that people just didn't have enough time to fully enjoy the outrageous German accent of chairman Dieter Zetsche. Despite the chairman's commercials failing to jump start sales in July the car maker is planning on continuing the spots featuring Zetsche playing "Dr. Z."- Men are more likely to skip ads using DVRs than women are. A survey of 1,000 people contained a subset of 240 or so who owned DVRs. Of that group 65 percent of men skipped commercials while watching recorded programming. The news isn't a whole lot better for women, 56 percent of whom also zap those pesky ads.
- Toyota posted big jumps in sales, so much so that they leap-frogged right over Ford to become the second biggest seller in the U.S. Part of the problem for Ford is that they're focused so intently on trucks and SUVs while Toyota has been seeing increases in the sales of mid-size cars and sedans.
