In a deal that is, by any standard, huge, Fox Interactive has signed Google to provide paid search advertising on MySpace, RottenTomatoes, IGN and other online properties owned by Fox. Google will pay Fox $900 million between the first quarter of 2007 and the second quarter of 2010 as long as the sites meet a minimum level of traffic. The search engine giant will provide a variety of search tools on every - that's every - MySpace page. Google will provide display ads on the social network's sites, a task previously done by Yahoo. 1. That's awesome news for me on two levels.
On a business side, it adds a huge base to my Google AdWords content campaigns. On a personal side (as a MySpace user), I'm postive Google's involvement will make a world of difference in regards to searching on the ever-growing MySpace network. To say it's a crapshoot currently is being kind.
