Honda, get new ads. The whole Mr. Opportunity angle is very old, he is cheesy and just plain makes me turn off the TV. If you're wondering, that is not a positive response to your ad. An animated dude to sell cars by impressing me that he is Mr. Opportunity? That doesn't even happen with three dimensional people in ads, so give it up already. Do something unique and interesting. I am already a fan of Honda, you guys have a great product, so why ruin the reputation with a dumb ad? Honda should be the one to lead the way, and if your ads don't stand out (because they are different) they aren't doing you much good. Ads should be about the customer and not about you. They are still on TV, it has been way too long. When your horse is dead, dismount.I hate Mr. Opportunity

(Page 1)2. Couldn't agree more. This is at least the second time around for this drivel. How does that happen the second time around? The Civic stuff and long form commercials are incredible. How can they miss so badly on their bread and butter product?

3. I agree with Gordon - i saw the blooper one last night and it was so distracting and stupid. You want to look at the car and check out what they're showing you, but then you have this stupid character walking infront of it and around and making no sense whatsoever. They really need to pull that ad, it's not one I'd sit through again.
4. No surprise considering the company that makes bland little cars also churns out bland little ads.
Honda has always been a company driven by engineers, so little wonder the products pack as much excitement as a sewing machine.

5. Mr. Opportunity is my hero.

6. The naysayers over Honda's recent Mr. Opportunity ads are way off base. To me, it is completely refreshing to view such a charismatic, clean cut, well mannered and obviously completley honest pitchman. Bravo Honda! If I were in the market to buy a new car right now and I was teetering between makers, you can bet that Honda would get the edge because really, would Mr. Opportunity steer you wrong...I think not!

9. Man some of you need to get a better grip on life. Its just an ad! It is to be a nice little joke on Honda and its to get your attention. To see the car which I would think we have all seen on the road is to go to the dealership and look closer. So really the ad did what it was to do. Get your attention, and it has done just that. Most like it...I do.

10. Argh! I DETEST the Mr. Opportunity ad where he can't remember his lines. He does NOT bring a smile to my face. Dex, I'd like to see the poll you took that says most people like it. And MRS. Opportunity, you're no better--you rag on people for filling their time with rips on that ridiculous cartoon, but you spend your time responding to them as if he's real! "Mr. Opporunity did nothing to you ..." blah, blah, blah.

11. I get a kick out of the Mr. Opportunity ads, and wish I could see more, but don't see much TV. I dunno why; I guess it's amusing to me compared to all the CRAP that's on.

12. I like it.

13. Nothing on TV bothers me more than those American and cheap Japanese car commercials, e.g. Mazda. Honda is doing a great job compared to the other crap we see.

14. I own a Honda. My wife owns a Honda. They are decent cars. Better than the crap America turns out.
But these commercials are horrible! If I was in the market for a new car, they might be enough to make me consider other than Honda.
There is nothing new, clever, cute, or interesting about Mr Opportunity. The ads are a huge turn-off. I mute the TV when they come on.

15. One responder above gave several descriptors of Mr. Opportunity (a.k.a. Mr. All-Too-Cutesy) which included "well-mannered". That's where I beg to differ. The knocking on the TV screen I find to be totally RUDE. In effect, it is saying, "Wake up, dumb a**" - that's what started making me absolutely hate the commercials.

1. ugh!
The dumbest one was on last night ... where they make it look like a gag reel / bloopers (Mr. Oportunity keeps screwing up his lines)
I still rate the Travelocity Gnome commercials as worse though
