More and more Americans - specifically those in the Baby Boom generation - are getting older. That's one of the take-aways from a new report released by Nielsen Media Research. It shows the number of people entering the 55-64 age group are growing by four percent, as opposed to the 2 percent growth going on in the teens/early 20's group. As the article states, that older demographic is among the most snubbed by most media, including advertising. So, you know, advertisers better look into that. Because if that's who's watching the shows on network TV then that better be who you're targeting in the commercial breaks.

1. This will ruin our economy. Old people ruin economies. Europe is stagnating because people aren't creating enough babies to make up for all the people who live 20, 30 years after they retire. Japan's economy is now suffering because of this problem. In the coming decades, the biggest issue in Western society will be the issue of old people. They MUST work, people that are unproductive for two decades or more are death to any serious economy.
