It's been awhile, Jacob, but it's about that time again. That's right, it's time to play everyone's favorite game, "Tell Adam What the Hell is Going On With This Ad." It's an ad for colored pencils, Faber-Castell colored pencils to be precise, but is there some deeper meaning to just showing one pencil against a white background, or are they just going for a kind of minimalist approach? Is there an optical illusion I'm missing? I guess the ad works inasmuch as it's pretty clear what the product is, since there's only the product and nothing else, but this seems like the kind of thing they'd do with a more recognizable brand. Unless Faber-Castell is so wildly popular they don't need anything else. It's just a pencil, what am I missing?

(Page 1)3. adam, didn't you click on the larger view of the ad? it's fairly obvious that it's a drawing of a colored pencil, done with colored pencils.

1. guess you gotta be an art student to get it
a zoom of the add with show the mc ecsher'esque look of the add the pencil's bottom fades to colored pencil drawn with colored pencil... in other words it is as good as shown (much like car ads show cars driving)
