  • GM CEO Rick Wagoner says the now-scuttled potential alliance with Renault and Nissan would have been a distraction of the the auto-maker's turnaround plans. The company would have, according to Wagoner, given GM the fuzzy end of the lollipop and hindered its ability to make future deals.
  • I'm really really shocked, in a not so much at all kind of way, to hear that Wal-Mart has shut down The Hub, its experiment in trying to setup a proprietary social network. Apparently the fact that the company controlled the content, informed parents of everything and forbade email between members just didn't scream "user-friendly."
  • It's good to see the Association of National Advertisers isn't resting on any laurels but instead is spending some serious conference time urging members to start thinking of innovative and original methods of reaching consumers.
