Guidelines for mags mean no underage cover models

Liquor and spirits advertisers will not put their ads in magazines sporting cover models under the age of 21. It's an attempt on their part to avoid charges of marketing to those under the legal drinking age. That meant when FHM was planning on putting 18-year-old Brooke Hogan (daughter of Hulk Hogan) on the cover of the November issue, FHM president Dana Fields started working the phones. She called liquor advertisers and advised them of the situation in plenty of time for them to move their planned ads to the December issue. Because it was done well in advance, the magazine didn't lose any money. Most magazines, including FHM up until now, simply avoid putting anyone under 21 on the cover so as to never put themselves in this situation.
