Summer Budget Travel Tips from Gadling

Starbucks and bikes just don't mix

Starbucks logoHere's the weird story of the day.

According to BikePortland.org, former Starbucks manager Fabian Mills was told by his district manager at a meeting that he couldn't ride his bike to work anymore. She wanted him to use a car, and said it was "inappropriate" and "unprofessional" to ride his bike to the meeting. Four days later, he was transferred to another store...16 miles further away than the store he was managing. Maybe this could be the start of a new ad campaign for the company: "Starbucks. For Professionals Only."

Mills filed a complaint with the company, but nothing ever came of it, so he quit and got another job.
