Wal-Mart, on the eve of hiring one agency, fires another

Well this is interesting timing. Just as reports are coming out that Wal-Mart is going to appoint Draft FCB as its new agency of record comes word that the retailer is about to dump Omnicom. Omnicom has been working with Wal-Mart for 20 years or so and was responsible for the "Always low prices" tag-line. This might be just another in a series of marketing shake-ups under John Fleming, who joined the company as the head of marketing in 2005. Wal-Mart has been trying lately to reshape its image to something closer to Target, which has a reputation as having stylish items at a discounted price.
