I reported a couple of weeks ago that Apple had decided to get rid of Justin Long, the Mac guy in the series of commercials that have been running for the past year or so, and focus on John Hodgman (the PC guy). But it turns out that it isn't true! Long is going to stay on, and the news comes from Long himself, at his site:
"As for the Mac commercials, I don't know where that report came from that said I wasn't going to do anymore - I'm literally setting my alarm right now to wake up for a Mac shoot tomorrow - if I'm not doing anymore I guess I can sleep in on my day off - that'd be nice. But, yeah, we're doing some holiday spots now which I think will be pretty funny - not nearly funny enough to justify the money they're paying me though, I'll be honest with you."
That's great to hear that Long will continue with the ads. I think it's hip not to like the character. Why, I have no idea. Long's a likable actor and plays off of Hodgman beautifully.
(Thanks to Dave for the tip)

1. So, it's hip not to like a smug, fact twisting dolt? Yes, he is just playing a role, but it just seems to come so naturally to him. Sorry, I just really HATE the if you're Apple, you're cool and women like you, and if your Windows, you have the sniffles, date men in dresses, and nothing ever works, ever.
