AdAge In 60 Seconds

  • MTV is planning for the early 2007 launch of at least 20 online channels devoted to reaching as many niches as possible. They're looking at online being a way to increase the connection they have with their audience, including as a way to submit applications to be on one of their reality shows.
  • The Tribune Company is pushing back their decision making process on how to sell off assets into the first part of 2007. In fact, the thinking at the media company may have changed back to one that focuses only on bidders interested in all its newspapers and TV stations as opposed to individual assets.
  • Success often comes after a series of failures and marketers need to embrace the idea that they won't always be perfect.
