Recently I mentioned the clever Irn Bru spot, a funny spoof of the animated holiday special The Snowman, based on the book by Raymond Briggs. The special is loved in the UK, and certainly not entirely unheard of in the United States, though I personally found it to be about as exciting as a sleeping pill. Anyway, health campaigners in Scotland, where Irn Bru is made and where the ad takes place, have come out against Barr's Irn Bru for using a children's character to promote the sugary drink, a move they feel is irresponsible. This comes on the heels of a recent ban on junk food ads shown during children's programming, imposed by Ofcom. The spot was created with the blessing of Briggs, the author of the book, though there seems to be some debate over whether Briggs was happy with the finished product.Irn Bru Snowman ad stirs controversy

(Page 1)2. At the end of the day, it's just an advert. We can't go through life obsessing over every little thing. What will turn kids to junk food is not adverts like this but annoying, boring adults continually harping on about healthy eating.

3. At last Irn-Bru ads are Scottish again!! (Not that I have enjoyed the UK Wide ads.) This advert will become as iconic as the drink itself. I was at Christmas party last night. What was the hot-topic of conversation? The Snowman Irn-Bru advert. Everybody that was there loves the advert. Irn-Bru don't need to advertise as people in Scotland would buy the product anyway.

1. Another great for TV ads.
Come on now, it beats CocaCola into second place for a soft drink, it now tops and beats CocaColas xmas ad for popularity.
Its the only drink in the world (soft drink) that does that, which gives us Scots a great feeling.
Relax enjoy, byt hey don't take life seriously, its only an advert.
