Orson Welles, lush

Is he really drunk? There's no way to know for sure, but Orson Welles certainly appears to be sauced in these outtakes from a Paul Masson commercial. Welles did a series of commercials for the wine maker in the '70s, and quite frankly, I think they should have used these outtakes for the ad instead, they're certainly more memorable. A 2002 post from Boing Boing suggests the problem may actually be the medication Welles was on at the time, but again, we'll never know. Anyway, if you want to see one of film's greatest men reduced to slurring and stammering like a drunken freshman, then by all means check out the clip below.
