Well I can honestly say I didn't see this coming. Dodge is using the Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots in a couple of new spots for its Ram 1500 model. Actually it's animated versions of the robots, which is a tad disappointing. The first commercial debuts Christmas Day, the second shortly after the new year. The first spot features the Blue robot winning its match against the red one, only to then try to take on the Ram 1500, match-up the robot eventually looses. The two spots are, according to the release, just the first taste of a yet-to-be-announced campaign Dodge will be launching in the first part of the New Year.Dodge uses Rock'em Sock'em Robots in new spot

(Page 1)2. My son (2 1/2 years old) is petrified when this commercial comes on; he cries, yells and pleads for us to take it off. I actually believe he is waking up at night because of it.

1. A lame commercial to those of us unfamiliar with the robots, Dodge misses the mark of good TV advertising with its Rock 'em Sock 'em campaign. Even if I had been familiar with the robots, the commercial leaves many mental gaps in its stretch to bring the two mechanical beings together. Seeing the commercial once every 8 minutes didn't help, either.
